"We appreciate the tour of Fire and Ice Dragons. We have been to many facilities but your set up is amazing and very clean, like a hospital. Your commitment and attention to detail is second to none. Thanks for giving me a whole new insight into dragon care."  - Mark Pickstock, UK

"Thank you very much for Julius. He is absolutely beautiful. He arrived at 10:00 am and has already eaten 27 crickets and 12 phoenix worms! He is shining bright with great color. Thanks again for a great dragon. I can't wait for the second one!" - Scott Lipkin, USA

Pics of Breeders follows below.

How quality is assessed: Individual dragons within each clutch are ranked for growth and color intensity. With collectors or hold back quality, you get a dragon in the top 2 or 3 in terms of color for the clutch.

How we rank the quality of our dragons:

1. Pet Quality - There are always 2 or 3 dragons in each clutch with the least amount of color when compared to the others in the clutch. These are made available to you at a low cost.

2. Breeder Quality - The majority of juveniles are in this category. These dragons are average in color for the clutch. This is a good medium priced dragon for those who want the bloodline in their breeding program.

3. Hold Back Quality - These are intensely colored dragons; the top 2 or 3 in the whole clutch.

4. Collectors Quality - 1- 2 dragons per clutch will fall into this category. These are the best of the best.

* 2008 BREEDING PROJECTS *

We have a few side projects going on with translucents and leatherbacks. We have produced our first probable Citrus Tigers. And for the past two years, we have been working on a really interesting project involving eye color. Our goal is to see if eye color can be influenced in the same way that color morphs and their variations have been. This year, we will be identifying the breeders for you that display golden eyes. It will be interesting to see if and how this trait is manifested in the offspring. Eye color and pattern anomalies seem to be two areas of bearded dragon breeding that are relatively unexplored and may hold infinite possibilities...

Here is a representative sampling of 2008 breeders.

All photos were taken in natural light using absolutely no enhancements.

FIRE MORPHS

"Fiona" is an outcross addition to our lines. Her background is unknown but she is likely from Chris Allen* stock (Hypo Reds/Bloods/Redflames).

"Vulcan" is the brother to Henna (below), a full body red orange with full color beard. He is an outcross from a Chris Allen female (Scar/Flame stock x Mystical Dragons Red crossed to a red by local breeder in Ohio). Paired to "Pele" in 2008, they produced interesting juvies with vibrant color and a bit of a different look. Watch for pics of our hold back offspring - breeders for 2009.

"Fury" son of "Tempest" (hypo red/blood/redflame) x and "Ferrari" (outcross: chris allen red stock x hypo), he displays traits from both parents, from his blue red tail and body moving to orange red head and then intensifying again near his eyes. He also displays the blue side bars against his red body.

"Henna" - This female is a full body Red/ Orange with a Reverse (white) in the flaming tiger pattern. She is an outcross from a Chris Allen female (from Scar /Flame stock x Mystical Dragons Red crossed to a red from a local breeder in Ohio).

"Pele," (Pay-Lay) was produced by crossing a 100% Citrus female to a redflame x blood male. She is an unusual Super Orange with full body color. Her eyes display a deep red starburst.

"Merlin," a jaw-dropping 100% Citrus male with full Citrus beard and throat. With outsanding confirmation and noticeably golden eyes, "Merlin" displays a perfect lemon-lime Citrus coloration. Merlin has proven to throw outstanding offspring and is paired to several females for late 2008 as we continue to work with the gold eye trait. See the For Sale page.

Super Citrus male, "Photon." He is the first dragon to be produced who was brighter than the highlighter we use for comparison. His is currenly paired with Citrus female, "Summer" and Super Citrus female, "Spellbinder" with clutches due in October. Grab your sun-glasses.

"Ra," one of the cornerstone 100% Citrus Breeders in our program. Named for the Egyptian god of the Sun, "Ra's" offsping have been consistantly brilliant with "Super" Citrus traits. He displays clear nails.

"Spellbinder" - This Super Citrus female is one of Terri's favorites. She is expecting her first clutch with "Photon" in October, on Halloween.

Super Citrus female, "Radiance" is paired with one of our 100% Citrus males. This pair would produce offspring 75% Citrus/25% Leucistic for that highlighter yellow color.

"Luna," a Super Citrus female displaying brilliant lemon Citrus and clear nails. She is currently paired to Red male, "Vulcan." Their first clutch, due in December, should offer reds, red oranges and tangerines with extremely vibrant color. Clear nails are possible.

100% Citrus male "Ramses" was proven in 2007 with Red female, "Fiona." Watch the For Sale page for updates on his offspring.

"Orion," a visual Citrus male from Citrus x Leucistic stock. Orion is producing with several females this year. See the For Sale page for upcoming clutches.

Visual Pastel Citrus "Thor" is one big male. He has gorgeous confirmation and a beauiful brilliant pastel lemon color.

"Mia" - 100% Citrus female. She is expecting a clutch with Red male, "Vulcan" due in December. Vibrant Reds and Red Oranges expected.

100% Citrus, "Elora" displays stellar Citrus color with perfect lavendar side bars. She is expected to produce in early 2009.

100% Citrus, "Summer" is one of our most beautiful Citrus females for 2008. Her color saturation is so intense, that her beard is as brilliantly Citrus as the rest of her. Her offspring with Super Citrus "Photon" blew us away. Both clutches so far have been a cut above.

100% Citrus female, "Monet" has superior confirmation - a beautiful balance of head, neck, body and tail. "Monet" is one of the females that was paired with "Merlin" for early 2008.

100% Citrus female, "Amelia," produced such excellent Citrus in 2007, that we hope to repeat her breeding with "Ramses" for 2008. "Amelia" is from "Dune's" branch of the Citrus Family Tree.

Very unusual Hypo Pastel female, "Peach," was produced by crossing a Leucistic x Super Orange to a Hypo Tangerine. She has clear nails and the most unusual pink/peach body color - just gorgeous!

Visual pastel Citrus female (Citrus x Leucistic) "Athena," is a full body bright pastel lemon dragon but also displays the Citrus dragons' lavendar sidebars. She is expecting her first clutch with Citrus "Spartan" in December.

Visual pastel Citrus female (Citrus x Leucistic) "Pixie," is a 50/50 cross of Citrus x Leucistic. When paired to a Citrus male, she will produce vivid Citrus offspring. She is currently paired to Super Citrus male, "Merlin." Babies should be gorgeous! Watch the For Sale page for updates or call to order.

*The term, 'Chris Allen Red' refers to a bloodline. This bloodline was comprised of all available Reds at that time including Redflames and Bloods, as well as Sandfire's reds and hypomelanistic individuals. This colony was then selectively bred for color by former breeder, Chris Allen. When former breeder, Sunshine Dragons purchased the colony, the line was marketed as Chris Allen Reds.

TRANSLUCENTS

Hypo Translucent male,"Shadow" is bred to het Trans female, "Faun" below for late 2008. His black eyes are characteristic of the trans. Watch the For Sale page for updates.
"Faun" is a Canadian Import female. She is a Double Het  (Translucent/Hypo) paired to "Shadow" above. We're looking forward to very nice offspring.

ICE MORPHS

Visual Ice male,"Yeti." This Leucistic x 100% Citrus (Storm x Ra) male is paired genetically to throw visual Super Citrus, Citrus and Ice offspring. "Yeti" has produced with several females in late 2008.

Very pretty visual Ice female, "Trinket" is the perfect genetic pairing for male "Yeti" (above) to throw those sought-after Super Citrus, Citrus and Citrus Tigers, many with clear nails. She is a Nova x Griffin offspring who displays an Icy version of her mother's beauty. If you appreciate "Show Quality" this is a great pair.
Snow Female, "Calypso." Pearl-like luminous color, yellow eye ring typical to Snows and amazing size. Babies are due from her pairing to "Orion." See the For Sale page.

Visual Snow female, "Mica" is as irridescent as her namesake. She looks like sparkles on Ice. We are expecting offspring late 2008. Check the For Sale page.
Snow female, "Spirit." Her color is pristine white and she has dark nails. She is paired with "Striker" and has produced Snows and Hypo Snows.

Leucistic "Storm," a gorgeous opal-esque white female. Storm displays the clear nails and dark eyes which characterized the marketed leucistics when they first emerged in the marketplace. Many marketed leucistics no longer display the dark eyes, as black eyed whites tend to be used in breeding to produce the newer Hypo Translucents.

Hypo Snow female "Cloud." She looks a lot like her Leucistic Mother, "Storm" and displays clear nails. Her first clutch threw knock-out Super Citrus and beautiful Snows.

Leucistics, Snows and Hypo Snow Dragons - Generally, the main difference between older Leucistics and Snows is the eye color and in the case of standard Snows (versus Hypo Snows), nail color.

We guarantee that our dragons are healthy and eating well from hatching to the day of shipment. When you receive your dragon(s), if it is not what you wanted, or you are disappointed in any way, contact us immediately for a refund. Return the dragon to us in good health immediately and we will provide you with a refund minus shipping costs.

While this situation is extremely rare, if the worst should happen and the dragon does not survive the shipment to your door by UPS regular delivery schedule, we will send you a replacement. If no replacement is available, as with collectors' quality, one-of-a-kind dragons, we will refund your purchase minus shipping costs.

While we make every effort to accurately sex dragons, gender cannot be guaranteed.

It is up to us to raise healthy beautiful bearded dragons. It is up to you to educate yourself on the care of these amazing reptiles and to notify us immediately if something isn't right. Many times, a minor adjustment in temperature or other simple husbandry aspect corrects the issue of a new owner's concern. Do not wait. One day can make the difference between success and failure in creatures that are 7 inches long and bask at relatively high temperatures.

If you have a question or concern about eating, drinking or anything else, contact us immediately. Do not assume we will check caller ID or that we have your phone number at our fingertips. We receive many calls each day. If you receive voicemail, leave your phone number twice in case your message breaks up. Otherwise, we cannot return your call. We offer our recommendations to many people freely, but we ask that you do your part in making your new reptile purchase a success.

Remember to call or email us with your questions on feeding and husbandry until all belly marks, which are signs of stress, disappear and your dragon is adjusting to its new environment. Eating and drinking are very important indicators that all is well and your new dragon is adjusting in his or her new home (see Care Sheet).
